Hi, my name is Doug Hall and I started homebrewing in the 1990s, Buying cans of Muntons malt extract syrup and other limited ingredients available from a local beer supply store.
The occasional boil-overs, skunky beers, and complaints from the wife made my venture into the new hobby last less than 2 years.
In the 2010s I had a client who bought me a Beer of the Month club as a Holiday gift. Wow! Being introduced to new craft beers from around the U.S. was an eye-opener, This renewed my interest in homebrewing and I started back up in 2018.
That hobby took off during the Covid lockdowns. I could easily buy and have delivered pre-packaged complete recipes from several online beer supply stores. I now have a neighborhood tasting club that also chips in to help buy ingredients.
At any given time, I have anywhere from 3 to 7 different home brews in my refrigerator.
I have stayed with the simplicity of extract brewing although there have been quite a few additions to my collection of tools and gadgets. Some have been awesome, others not so much.
Homebrewing is a uniquely passionate hobby that involves chemistry and creativity. I’m still experimenting and learning new things all the time. As simple as the process can be to make beer, there are a lot of nuances.
I am no expert. What I did want to do was provide a community to help everyone out. At the same time be a 1-stop source for everything related to the world of beer. I invite you to join our community, share your successes, and maybe help out other beer lovers on their journey.
Brew for all. All for brew!
